Erik began drawing and painting in kindergarten. His mother was an artist and encouraged him to pursue art, but his medical training and a busy career in retinal surgery left little time for painting. Now that his career is behind him, Erik finally has more time at the easel. He enjoys painting landscapes, golf courses, and coastal scenes—often “en plein air”—and has also done portraits.
