Join local landscape artist Frank Kurland for a Plein Air painting session on a Chikaming Open Lands nature preserve!

 

You and 5 friends will enjoy an afternoon in nature, exploring your creative side and channeling the great French impressionists. This session includes a brief introduction to the craft from Frank, all paints, use of easels, 2 canvases each, a smock to keep as a memento, and pinot from France to inspire you! We will also have a second guest artist to add their insights and encouragement to your session. This is a perfect creative afternoon for the novice, occasional hobbyist, or experienced artist.

Frank describes his landscape paintings as "nature-inspired dreamscapes..." truly, a perfect characterization of his gorgeous work. "I've never painted realism, but more the way light falls, or colors blend, in my mind's eye," he says. "I layer color and texture until I achieve an image that I want to look at - and look through - for a long time."
